Penny Adamson is a life-long lover of art and animals. An accomplished writer, painter and photographer, she
has honed her artistic skills through years of freelance work on myriad projects. Born in Canada but raised in
both Canada and Germany, Penny moved to the U.S. in 1968. Although she had previously traveled to a variety
of foreign places, it wasn't until the summer of 1994 -- at age 46 -- that Penny discovered the home-away-from-home
that would forever change her life.
Her first trip to Africa was a three-week camera safari through Kenya and Tanzania, during which time she
became enamored with the serenity of the Maasai lifestyle and the rigors of nature in its most primitive state.
Now an unabashed lover of all things African, Penny has traveled back to the Dark Continent on multiple subsequent
safaris to countries including Botswana, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia, Zanzibar and Zimbabwe.
Penny's travels to Africa have allowed her to join her passions of art, animals and travel. Of the thousands of
photographs she has taken there, some have been published in African travel guides such as Africa's Top Wildlife
Countries by author/photographer Mark Nolting. In addition, she has kept numerous personal diaries, painted
several paintings and even helmed video documentaries of her many travels.
On this website you will find just a few of the images that have inspired Penny to dedicate a significant portion of
her time to paying homage to the place that keeps her coming back year after year -- Africa!
